Cherry and plum sauce, sweet sage and cocoa aromas combine as the 2022 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Pietrame Edizione Limitata smolders from the glass. This is round and cool-toned, with a cascade of violet inner florals that arch across its core of fresh blackberry fruit. Just gently tannic and with a pleasant tinge of citrus and chalk dust, the 2022 tapers off long and complex. This is wildly unique and full of energy. Drinking window: 2024-2030. Score – 90.
