Description

Pale, green-tinged straw-yellow. Sexy aromas of kiwi, lemon and nectarine are lifted by lavender and jasmine notes. Juicy and bright in the mouth, with a laser beam of acidity providing cut and clarity to the floral and white stone fruit flavors. For all its power and inner-mouth energy, this wine conveys an impression of weightlessness. The long finish features a penetrating lemony mineral quality. Made with grapes grown on two parcels in the calcaire-rich portion of the Pfersigberg grand cru, which has resulted in a racier wine. Léon Beyer is currently selling the 2008 and 2009 vintages of Les Ecaillers, so this lovely wine won’t be available until 2020. Drinking window: 2020-2030. Score – 91.
