Errázuriz KAI Carmenère 2013

Description

Dense spicy nose with great mulberry fruit, the toasty oak pushed into the background by their intensity. A hint of mint, too. Full-bodied, succulent and plush. Stunning balance considering the warm vintage, the fine-grained tannins beautifully integrated at the long, rich finish where there’s easily enough acidity to keep this bright. A cuvee of 90% carmenere, 7% petit verdot and 3% syrah. Drink or hold. 20th Anniversary Berlin Tasting Event, February 2024. Score – 96. (Stuart Pigott, jamessuckling.com, March 3, 2024)
