Aged in oak casks and brewing according to an ancient method that is geographically linked with the southwest province of West Flanders. The “Duchess of Burgundy” is one of just 4 remaining originators of the “Flanders Sour ale”.The name of the beer is in honour of the Duchess Mary of Burgundy (born in Brussels, 1457), the only daughter of Charles the Bold, who died tragically in a horse riding accident.
