Vaucher Père & Fils Fleurie 2022

Description

This is an attractive version of Fleurie, one of the top-rated of the Beaujolais crus. The nose is very expressive and aromatic, while the palate is full of dark fruit, with some spicy top notes for good measure. The acidity is assertive, and well aligned with the fruit. This lovely wine is very dry, even verging on astringent, and it calls for food, rather than to be drunk on its own. Drink now to 2029. Score – 93. (Rod Phillips, April 2023)
