This wine is named for Mazzei family ancestor Ser Lapo, who is credited with the first official documentation of Chianti, on December 16, 1398. A classic expression, it shows ripe cherry, blackcurrant, plum, and finely tuned tannins and will evolve for up to 10 years from vintage. Pair with steak, mushroom casserole or charcuterie.
