Charles Baker Picone Vineyard Riesling 2021

Description

After over a decade of 90+ scores Charles Baker’s signature riesling just keeps on trucking. There is a sense of the pristine and exacting balance and tension that riesling does so easily, but here it is all magnified somehow, with extra flavour dimensions added. Expect lifted apple/pineapple aromas with classic lemon, evergreen and oyster shell minerality. It is light to mid-weight, essentially dry but tucked in by a hint of residual sugar. The intensity and length are excellent. Some bitterness on the finish. Tasted May 2024. Score – 93. (David Lawrason, winealign.com)
