Anayón Garnacha Blanca 2018

Description

Strikingly deep orange to amber hue. Very attractive oxidative notes with walnut, toffee, and caramel to the dried oranges and sweetened papayas, and then, of course, some vanilla. Full-bodied and phenolic on the palate showing some nice oak tannin structure and a very flavorful, intense center palate that extends to a lengthy finish that lasts almost a minute. This is quite ‘traditional,’ if you like, and can be pigeonholed to the same ilk of Lopez de Heredia wines. 39 months in barrels. Vegan. Ranked #59 in James Suckling’s Top 100 Wines of Spain 2023.
