Domaine Queylus Tradition Chardonnay 2019

Description

This is a fine and quite complex, creamy, oatmeal and almond, crème fraîche and fresh bread dough-inflected chardonnay in the evidently barrel-inflected (not oaky, but old wood) style, with lovely, broad texture and soft, velvety mouthfeel. Depth and intensity are impressive in the category, and while a bit of an idiosyncratic style overall, it’s a wine that could easily sell for more in its context. Length and depth are really quite excellent. Drink over the next 1-4 years. Tasted March 2022. Score – 91. (John Szabo, MS, winealign.com)
